Heroglobin:

Monster Hospital

Heroglobin: Monster Hospital is an action RPG about the NHS. The story is about two haematology patients (Hazel and Iso) who uncover a conspiracy that their hospital is overrun by cultists and their monster army. You play by exploring the hospital, recruiting other characters, and fighting the evil cultists.

The game is being developed by myself and Aisosa Ugiagbe for PC and consoles. It is partially based on my experience with chronic illness and living in and out of hospital. We aim to provide authentic representation of disabled and chronically ill perspectives. In the current games landscape, this representation is sorely needed. Medical dramas are never from the patient’s point of view; disabled characters are usually amputees with magical prosthetic limbs; hospital settings are restricted to abandoned mental asylums in horror games. What if we changed this? What if we acknowledged hospitals as community hubs where people live and work? What if we allowed disabled people to be the main characters of the story?

Please wishlist our game on Steam if you’d like to support its development.
